Lincoln District Scout Centenary – St George’s Day Service

100 – NOT OUT!

Happy Birthday Lincoln District

Daffodil, Poppy and 4 Brownies attended the above named ceremony at Lincoln Cathedral today.  We started our day on a 80-seater double decker bus which took us to the Castle where we met up with hundreds of beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers with a few Brownies and Guides thrown in!  The parade then assembled on the Castle grounds and we marched from the Castle (the long way round I hasten to add!) to the Cathedral.  The Service of Thanksgiving and Rededicated started at 2pm and included the Renewal of Promises where all the various sections took turns to re-new their promise.   After the Service, the parade reformed for the march past and return to the Castle.  Back on the bus where we had a drink and snack and then returned home.  Well done to the Brownies, for being on time and very well behaved throughout the parade and the Service.  A great day was had by all and best of all – the rain stayed away!
