Monday 14th December
This week was our end of term Bowling trip. The Brownies split themselves into 4 teams:
Bonkers Buttercups: Asha, Chloe C, Chloe S, Emily, Gemma and Katie
Daffy Daffodils: Ava, Charlotte, Freya, Isla and Maddison
Squishy Snowdrops: Hannah, Isobel, Libby, Lily and Louise
Squashy Squirrels: Belle, Deryn, Eleanor, Lucy, Roslyn and Summer
We had a great game of ten pin bowling with the Bonkers Buttercups winning with the highest team score of 569. Well done Brownies who each received a lovely Ten Pin Bowling badge. Belle had the highest individual score with 99 but as she was in the winning team and already had a badge (as was Deryn who was next with 95), we went to the next highest individual score which was Hannah with 94; she also received one of the Ten Pin Bowling badges. Well done to all – some superb team spirit and bowling went on and all were very well behaved too.
After washing our hands and making sure we collected all our belongings we moved to the dining area for our lovely buffet tea. Food, glorious good – there was loads of it – enough for 40 Brownies, never mind just 22! We had a selection of hot food: pizza slices, chicken breast bites, mozzarella sticks and mini sausages; cold food: ham and cheese sandwiches, bread sticks, crisps plus a selection of fresh vegetable and fruit including carrots, grapes and cherry tomatoes. All washed down with gallons of orange or blackcurrant juice.
We stuffed ourselves until we could burst and there were still loads of food left over so the Leaders took home some doggy bags! All too soon it was time to go but not before Buttercup, Snowdrop and Squirrel surprised Daffodil (again!) with a thank you/Christmas present on behalf of them, Foxglove and all the Brownies. Thank you so much, always a lovely surprise and never expected 🙂
Thank you also to Summer who brought in a box of delicious cupcakes for the leaders to share; Charlotte who gave everyone a Christmas present and card and Lucy and Roslyn who made gorgeous homemade Christmas cards for the leaders.
As Daffodil was leaving, she was also surprised by Louise who passed her a thank you gift. Louise is (was) one of our longest serving Brownies (along with Lily) is leaving us after 3 years with Brownies to move up to Guides, Daffodil and mum couldn’t believe how quick the last 3 years have gone! Thank you for my beautiful daffodil hand bag – can’t wait to use it and look forward to seeing you at Guides.
Lastly, thank you to all Brownies for a marvelous year – we’ve had some great adventures and activities and we can’t wait to start again in the New Year. The programme is up so take a peek! Thank you also to our wonderful parents for their support and a special thank you to Kiran and Xahne from our parent rota for lending a much needed hand when we needed it 🙂
That’s it for this year – have a fabulous Christmas and all the best for 2016 xxx
