Monday 20th April – New Term Blues

Well, we should have been returning to our weekly meetings after the Easter break but sadly with the lock down and Girlguiding suspension still ongoing, this is not possible.  Based on the current guidelines, we are hoping to be back week beginning 11th May and as such Daffodil has been working to create a special, fun filled programme for the 8 or so weeks we will have (not a UMA or badge in sight!) before breaking up again for the summer holidays.  Activities include lots of different themed team building nights such as food, spy, hands free and beach holidays, a Bring a Friend night plus our usual sports night, promise ceremonies and end of term trip. ~A full list can be found on our What’s On – Weekly Programme page.  On the plus side, we will continue to run our Brownies at Home programme until we meet again so keep the emails coming.   Well done to those who have sent in work over the last week:

Lilly has been busy painting her bedroom furniture and doing a spot of gardening towards her Grow Your own badge.  Well done Lilly.

Isla J has started the Ladybird Challenge badge and sent in her list of 40 things that can fly.   Well done Isla.

Ellie N (aka Ned) has printed off the Guiding Shining Light and thank you posters from the website and coloured them in beautifully before putting up in their windows.  Thank you Ellie.

We have our next pack-up planned but to save paper and resources, if we do return 11th May, we won’t bother with it as we’ll see everyone at Brownies.  However, if the suspension continues past this date, we’ll hand deliver the new pack-up then, give Brownies something to look forward to!

We’ve continued to take part in the Thursday 8pm Clap for Carers and are still lighting our little Guiding candles.  Thank you as always to all our key workers, military and NHS staff for their continued work at this difficult time.   Important dates for your diaries:

Every Sunday between 7.10 and 8.20 pm – light a candle in your windows – and join all Girlguiders around the world to show our “This Little Guiding Light of Mine” .

Every Wednesday at 8pm – Clap for Carers – join in on doorsteps or from windows to clap for all our carers and key workers and thank them for their Service.

That’s it for now.   Keep safe, keep healthy and keep in touch xx
