Monday 27th April – Pow Wows

Another week with no Brownies but hopefully we are all staying safe, healthy and positive. Can’t believe this is our 6th week in lock down! Although not as many as previous weeks we are still receiving lovely emails as girls continued to work on our Brownies at Home programme; well done to those who have sent their work over the last week:

Evie has been completing challenges including the acrostic poem, a video call with friends from Weston-super-Mare where they read stories they had written to each other and the making of a beautiful toilet roll bee badge. Well done Evie.

Amelia W has almost completed her Grow Your Own badge; she is just waiting for her plants to grow. Well done Isla.

Daffodil is now working on next year’s programme. We usually have a termly pow-wow to ask the Brownies what they would like to do. Obviously, this has had to be cancelled this term; however, if our Brownies would like a say in what we do, there is an “My Ideas” form on our Brownies at Home page here. Please send any, and all ideas to Daffodil by Saturday 9th May. Daffodil has also sent parents details of our new Parents Satisfaction Survey with links; we complete these every 3 years or so to ensure we are doing our best for both our Brownies and their parents.

We’ve continued to take part in the Thursday 8pm Clap for Carers and are still lighting our little Guiding candles. Thank you as always to all our key workers, military and NHS staff for their continued work at this difficult time. Important dates for your diaries:
Every Sunday between 7.10 and 8.20 pm – light a candle in your windows – and join all Girlguiders around the world to show our “This Little Guiding Light of Mine” .
Every Wednesday at 8pm – Clap for Carers – join in on doorsteps or from windows to clap for all our carers and key workers and thank them for their Service.

That’s it for now. Keep safe, keep healthy and keep in touch xx
