Monday 18th May – May Madness!

Hello!  Hoping everyone is okay and able to enjoy the good weather now that we can go out for unlimited exercise and visit the park.  A few more emails this week.  Thank you and well done to these Brownies for all their hard work:

An enormous well done to both Gracie and Isla who sent in photographs of their amazing work from the VE Day 75 activity pack.  Lots of beautiful colouring in of bunting and posters which were displayed marvelously.  Gracie even provided coloured in bunting to her elderly neighbour so Daffodil has nominated her as last week’s Best Brownie.  Well done Gracie, certificate and one of our mascots will be included in May’s pack-up.

Our newest member, Mia has been remarkably busy.  She’s completed the Baking interest badge by making Harris, Hubert and Hamish’s Pudding, created a story and decorated her bakes.  She has also made a start on her Grow Your Own interest badge by planting peas.

Daisy celebrated her birthday on Friday; Daffodil sent her a card on behalf of all the Brownies.  Happy birthday Daisy!

The Girlguiding shop has started trading again this week and Daffodil has ordered several badges ready.  Here’s an updated summary of what we’ve received:

Grow Your Own Interest badge. Eloise & Amelia W have finished; Ellie N, Isla J, Lilly and Mia need to do 2 more parts (the design & care plan clauses).
Baking Interest Badge.  Aurora and Mia have finished.  Isla J needs to do 2 more parts (design & decorate plus the story clauses).
Jobs Interest badge. Evelyn just needs to complete the last part – the Interview clause.
Butterfly Challenge Badge. Ellie N & Gracie have finished.  Badges ordered and received – these will be put in the May pack-up.
Ladybird Challenge Badge. Isla J has started this badge and needs to do 4 more parts.  Badge ordered and received.

A fond farewell to our lovely Sophie aka Monty, she officially finishes her Brownie journey this week and is moving up to Guides.  We’ll see her again soon, not least because she is still joining us at Parva House.  Yeah!

Next week would have been half-term; if its confirmed that we will not be meeting again after half-term, Daffodil will sort out the next pack up and have them hand delivered.  That’s it for now.   Keep safe, keep healthy and keep in touch xx
