Monday 13 July – Goodbye …

Hello everyone!  This week we say a very fond but sad farewell to our the following Brownies who are sadly leaving us this week:

Paige has been with us for nearly 4 years and has been one of most enthusiastic Brownies, taking part in just about everything we have done over this time.  As Daisy is her mum, I daresay we will continue to see her from time to time.
Hannah aka Trevor is moving up to Guides after a 3-year Brownie journey.  One of our most cheerful Brownies, there is no doubt she will have a fabulous time at Guides.
Amelia W is also moving up to Guides after 3½ years with us.  Amelia is super friendly and conscientious and will have no problem settling into Guides.
Eloise is off to boarding school so will continue her Brownie journey at another unit.  Always happy and smiling, she’ll make a great addition to her new unit.
Goodbye and good luck to all, we will genuinely miss you being a part of our Unit.

We are still waiting news from Girlguiding about a possible lift to the suspension of face to face meetings.  As mentioned in our weekly newsletter, depending on whether the Girlguiding suspension will be lifted, we have plans for alternative week face-to-face meetings or for zoom meetings.  Our much-anticipated trip to Parva House has had to be postponed again but we’ll get there in the end!  More information on our plans are included in our weekly newsletter.

Just one lovely email this week from Mia who has started the Design a Cruise challenge.  Quite a long and difficult challenge so we are very impressed by Mia’s work so far.  Well done Mia.

No change to this week’s badge update –badges have now arrived and will be posted to those who complete all them:

Grow Your Own badge. Chloe, Ellie N and Lilly to do the design & care plan clauses.
Baking Interest Badge. Isla J to do the design & decorate plus the story clauses.
Jobs Interest badge. Evelyn just to complete the last clause – the Interview.

This is a challenge for all members of Girlguiding Lincolnshire.  The idea is to get out and active in any way you can and record your miles as you do so.  You can start recording your miles as soon as possible and if you have been out and active from 29 June, please include them.  If you take your dog with you, parents, or family, remember to include their miles.  We would like to enter as a Unit, so send Daffodil your miles every Sunday and she will forward them on a Monday.  More details on our Brownies at Home page here.

No right or wrong answers to last week’s challenge.  This week’s blog challenge is the A to Z Challenge.  For each letter of the alphabet, write the name of a country where Girl Guides can be found.  That’s it for now!  Keep safe, keep healthy and keep in touch x
