Monday 27 March – Bunnies!
This week we finished the term with some fabulous Easter crafts and our awards ceremony. We made Easter bunnies, turning a simple flannel into an amazing Easter bunny! These were super easy to make and only required a flannel, elastic band plus decorations to make it look so cute! We also decorated sparkly Easter egg shape foam template to make a simple, yet effective Easter card. On to our awards ceremony:
Best Six – no Best Six league table this term as we’ve had a break from the six registers etc. so we decided to use the prizes already bought to have not one, but 4 Best Brownie of the term awards:
Our Achiever Award went to Mia for always willing to undertake any challenge and doing so with a lovely smile on her face!
Our Most Enthusiastic award went to Olivia B for being so enthusiastic during our meetings whether it’s a game, craft or during our pow-wow chats!
Our Best Manners award went to Darcie-Bay for always being polite to all the Brownies and leaders as well as being super helpful without being asked too!
Our Leadership award went to Marlee for showing maturity, being a great Second and a good example to our younger Brownies.
The girls all received a personalised trophy, certificate, Brownies Well done woven badge plus a small official Brownie prize.
We also had lots of badges to hand out including 2 Bronze section awards to Amy and Skyla. Super well done to these Brownies for achieving this high award. We had 16 Skills builder badges – Communicate Stage 3 for all those completed 4 out of the 5 activities we ran during our meetings; this led to 12 Express Myself theme awards for all those who completed the Communicate Stage 3 skills builder, one of the Express myself interest badges and had completed 3 hours of the Express Myself unit meeting activities. Well done Brownies.
We said a sad but fond farewell to Florence and Olivia R who are moving up to Guides after Easter. Olivia brought in home made mini-cookies to share with everyone – thank you Olivia! Both girls received their farewell pack-ups including a card signed by everyone, I’ve finished by Brownie Adventure certificate, a metal badge to wear on their Guiding uniform plus a spotty Girlguiding pencil. Good bye and good luck girls!
Our weekly Best Brownie was awarded to Darcy for her excellent hammer and nail skills during our trip to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life at the weekend. Darcy received a certificate, Brownie purse and took home the trophy and penguin mascot for the holidays. Well done Darcy.
Everyone received a mini chocolate treat for Easter and lastly, Daffodil thanked our leadership team with a treat of their own – a small Easter egg plus a “I volunteer for Girlguiding” car sticker!!
We had plenty of time for games so once all badges and awards where packed away, we moved into the main Church hall and finished the night playing our favourite games.
That’s it – see you after Easter!!
