Due to COVID-19 we had to stop our weekly meetings in March 2020. We did not return as hoped after the Easter holidays and due to a combination of being temporarily homeless and youth group restrictions, did not return as expected to weekly meeting in September 2020. This term, the Brownies are meeting virtually (via zoom) every fortnight. We are unsure at this time, if we will continue to meet virtually or be able to meet face-to-face from January. Though due to group size restrictions, any face-to-face meetings will also be fortnightly as we will need to split the Unit into 2 smaller groups. This has had a huge impact on our funds and we have lost literally hundreds of pounds in lost subs plus having to refund parents for cancelled events (refunds we have not received back from providers).
You can now support 1st Waddington (RAF) Brownies on #easyfundraising! When you sign up as a supporter, 4,300 shops and sites will donate for free, every time you shop online. This includes all the big names like eBay, John Lewis & Partners, Argos, ASOS, and many more!? Click on the link to support us!
As mentioned above, the COVID-19 crisis has had a huge impact on our funds and we have lost literally hundreds of pounds in lost subs plus having to refund parents for cancelled events (refunds we have not received back from providers). However, we do still have outgoings such as our Brownies at Home programme, Zoom Packs, zoom crafts, badges, printing, stamps, envelopes, website hosting etc. plus we will still have to pay full census (membership fees) to Girlguiding in February 2021 (approx. £1200!). Whilst we appreciate that some families may be struggling financially too, below are some links to donate to our Unit to help keep our funds healthy during this time. Any donation would be gratefully received but there is absolutely no obligation to do so. Feel free to share this page.
