Brownie Holidays

Daffodil has completed the Going Away Scheme qualification and is therefore qualified to organise and run Brownie Holidays; so we aim to go away twice a year around Spring (March/April) and Autumn (September) time. Our last Brownie holiday was in June 2019 – to see what we got up to check out our Parva House blog here.

Our planned weekends to Parva & Seagull House have now been postponed indefinitely until such time this COVID-19 crisis is over, everyone has been inoculated and we are finally back to “normal”.

Zoo-ming Animal Kingdom: Virtual Sleepover Weekend

We had our first ever virtual sleepover weekend in January 2021. It was a great success and following feedback from parents we’re now planning our next one!

When: Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 June 2021

Theme: Zoo-ming Animal Kingdom. We will be looking the different types of animals including amphibians, birds, fishes, invertebrates, mammals and reptiles.  We will also have a virtual session with Amazing Animal Encounters and River’s Rodents & Reptiles.

To earn the badge, Brownies need to:  Sleep anywhere but in your bed!  Attend at least 3 zoom sessions and choose 3 other activities from the programme booklet and complete the Design a Zoo booklet.

Includes: Badge, printed programme & resources which will be hand delivered with zoom packs during May half term. To save paper and reduce costs, all activity instructions can be found on our Unit’s Pinterest page here.

Sign Up:  List now closed as all places have been taken.  Please email Daffodil to join the reserve list.
No refunds if withdrawn after Mon 17 May as Zoom Packs will already be paid up.
After payment, parents will be directed to a survey to confirm sessions attending etc.

Confirmed places (payment & consent form received):  Ameila, Ellie, Mia, Aurora, Jasmine, Florence & Grace, Eliora, Emmy, Amy, Isabel, Evie N.

A private Facebook group has been created for just this event, invites will be send a few days prior to the event.

Parva House

This trip was originally planned for March 2020; however, due to COVID-19 it was then postponed twice more.  In September 2020, it was decided to cancel it altogether and refund parents.  It will go ahead as planned at some point but at this time, we cannot say when.

Theme:  All Things Messy and Sticky!  Activities will include craft (painting, modelling) , play (experiments), cooking and, of course, lots of fun games and activities.  We will complete the All Things Sticky Challenge and Brownie Painting Interest badges.

Cost: Around £20 (reduced from £35) perhaps even less as we still have most of the craft resources saved from the cancelled weekend and 12 of the accommodation slots have already been paid for.

A non-refundable deposit of £10 is required to secure a place.
