Below is a list of events planned, including outings or a themed evening/party (locations as per consent form/newsletters/emails).


Promise Ceremony – December 2021
Those Tweenies who have completed their Tweenie programme at Brownies and feel ready, will take their Promise this week.  A “Tweenie” is a girl who is ‘tween not being a Brownie and being a Brownie”.  Tweenies taking their promise: Charlotte, Evie P, Grace, Holly & Paige.

When: Week beginning Monday 6 December
Where: Our usual venue
Timings: 7.15 – 7.30pm
Dress: Full Brownie uniform is required.
Guests: Parents and family are welcome to attend.


Christmas Party – December 2021
Thanks to funding received from the Arnold Clark Community Fund, we are planning a fantastic end end of term Christmas Party!  We will have a disco provided by Fab Discos, lots of fun games, prizes, best costume award and a goody bag for all who attend!

When:  Week beginning Monday 13 December
Timings: Usual times.
Venue: Usual meeting place
Cost: Nil – included in subs
Sign up:  None but let Daffodil know if NOT attending so we don’t waste resources. Christmas bags etc. will only be given out on the night and not held for the New Year.
Wear: Christmas outfit – prize for best outfit!

Water Adventures Trip Out – July 2022
Our end of term trip will be a return to an activity centre in Lincoln to take part in some outside water activities. The plan is to arrive by 6pm, get changed into wet suits, buoyancy aids and helmets. Then we’d have an hour in the water doing one or more of the following activities:

Messing around on the water on sit-on tops, pedalos and inflatables
Mission Impossible – using similar equipment, but this is a more instructor led activity and we are in 2 teams to complete challenges
Sit-on Top session – a chance to have a go with our sit on top canoes and some paddling skills

Out of the water around 7.30pm then changed back into warm things and have a drink.

When: Week beginning Monday 18 July 2022
Drop off
: 5.30-5.45pm ready for 6pm start at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Pick up: 8pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Cost: tbc but usually around £5-£7
Sign up: Sign up will start after Easter 2022
Bring: Swimming costume, towel, old trainers or something to wear on their feet in the water (no sandals or crocs which can come off), then warm clothes to put back on after the session.
Wear: Brownie uniform is not required.
Other Information: Girls will need to have their tea beforehand  | Girls will receive a drink and snack after the activity
Consent Form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form


Junior Poacher Day – August 2022
Poacher is an international week long camp for scouts and guides.  Junior poacher is specifically for the younger members of Girlguiding/Scouting and is a one day event for Brownies.  It is only held every 4 years and we have been as a unit twice before in 2013 & 2017.  Check out the blog here from our last visit to see what a fab day we had!

When: tbc but ONE day between 2 and 5 August 2022
Drop off: Usually 9.15 – 9.30am at the Lincolnshire Showground (gate tbc)
Pick up: Pick up:  4pm at the Lincolnshire Showground (gate tbc)
Cost: tbc but usually around £12-£15
Sign up
: Sign up usually starts the January before
Wear
:  Wear full Brownie uniform with freshly ironed neckers
Bring: Packed lunch, sunscreen, sun hat, a drink  and money for the shop
Consent form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form


Summer Holidays Sessions 2022
We will be be open during the school summer holidays. These are also a Bring a Friend nights (female friends or siblings aged 6 to 12 years old).  Brownies can work on interest badges if they like.

When: Week beginning Monday 25 August for 4 weeks (but not including Poacher week)
Cost: Depends on funds but no more than £2 cash a session per child
Sign up: None, just come along but inform Daffodil of any food allergies, medical concerns etc.
Wear: Anything but sensible running shoes and sunhat required
Bring: A drink and sunscreen
Consent form: Not required


Bring a Friend Night – July/August 2022
We’d love our Brownies to bring a friend to our Summer Holidays meetings.  Activities to be decided nearer the time but guaranteed lots of fun!  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will have to limit how many attend .. more details below:

When: Week beginning xx
Timings
: Usual times.  Guests to be dropped off my host Brownie’s parents
Sign up:  Friends (guests) MUST be booked in prior to the meeting with Daffodil with details of any food allergies, medical concerns etc.  We will be limiting it to 6 friends in total so it will be first come, first served.  Any friends turning up without prior booking, will unfortunately not be able to stay.
Wear: Brownies to wear full Brownie uniform as usual and bring a drink etc.
Bring: Pre-booked guests/friends to arrive with a drink and footwear suitable for running around in.


Brownie Holiday Weekend: Parva House – September 2022
We will finally be returning to Parva House for a fabulous Brownie 2-night weekend. This holiday was originally planned for March 2020 but was postponed twice before finally cancelling due to COVID-19.  It is now re-booked for September 2022 and we can’t wait to return! District Thinking Day –  2023
Our District Thinking Day event will be returning in 2023! This is a time for all Girlguiding members within our District to come together to celebrate World Thinking Day.  In the past, the theme is a particular country and the girls complete a craft and an activity such as dancing.  Details to follow nearer the time, but what we do know:

When: Sunday 27 February 2023
Cost: tbc but usually around £5-£7
Sign up: Sign up will be done directly through our District Commissioner, Sarai.
Wear: Wear full Brownie uniform with freshly ironed neckers
Bring: A drink and a shiny 50p piece for the World Thinking Day Fund
Consent form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form

 


Museum of Lincolnshire Life & Lincoln Observatory Trip 2023

We are finally returning to the Museum following a very successful trip in 2018.  This trip was originally planned for March 2021 but had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.  We will also be visiting the Lincoln Observatory.  The plan is to visit the Museum first then walk 0.5 miles and finish the day at the Observatory.

When: Week beginning Monday 20 March 2023
Drop off
: 9.30am at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Pick up: 2.30pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Cost:  tbc but around £5-£8
Sign up: Sign up will start January 2023
Wear: Brownies – full Brownie uniform with necker & sun hat
Bring: Day sack with drink, packed lunch and money for souvenir shop
Consent form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form


Brownie Holiday Weekend: Seagull House – June 2023
We will be returning to Seagull House, Trusthorpe for a fabulous Brownie 2-night weekend. This holiday was originally planned for September 2020 but was postponed twice before finally cancelling due to COVID-19.  It is now re-booked for June 2023 and we can’t wait to return!
