Below is a list of events planned, including outings or a themed evening/party (locations as per consent form/newsletters/emails).


Outside Face to Face Meetings – July 2021
Weather and COVID restrictions permitting, we are hoping to have the last 2 meetings of the term outside.  We will have to split into 2 smaller groups but will all attend both weeks.  We will catch up, play games and say hello to all our new girls who we’ve not meet face to face before!

When: Week beginning Monday 12 & Monday 19 July
Timings: Usual meeting times: 6 – 7.30pm
Where: As per consent form & weekly newsletter
Bring: Wear full Brownie uniform, waterproof coat and a drink

Daffodil will send out the consent form for these meeting nearer the time.  There is no change to subs, we will still only charge £1.50 for 6 virtual meetings so parents will effectively get one meeting for FREE!


Next Promise Ceremony – July 2021
Those Tweenies who have completed their Brownies at Home Tweenie programme and feel ready, will take their Promise this week.  A “Tweenie” is a girl who is ‘tween not being a Brownie and being a Brownie”.  Tweenies taking their promise: tbn

When: Monday 19 July | Timings: tbc
How: If virtual –  Zoom invites will be sent to parents the day before the event
How: If face-to-face – at meeting venue.
Full Brownie uniform is required.
If virtual, Daffodil will send out the Promise programme, badge & certificates a few days prior to the event so that parents can pin on their Promise badge during the ceremony.
If face-to-face: Due to group size restrictions, it is unlikely that parents will be permitted to attend the event.


Bring a Friend Nights –
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed our Bring a Friend nights until a time we can meet face to face in large groups again.  We’d love all our Brownies to bring a friend or two to this week’s meeting!  Activities to be decided nearer the time but guaranteed lots of fun!

Timings: Usual times.  Guests to be dropped off my host Brownie’s parents
Cost: Free for guests
Sign up:  None, just come along but inform Daffodil of any food allergies, medical concerns etc.
Wear: Brownies to wear full Brownie uniform as usual and bring a drink etc.
Bring: Guests to arrive with a drink and footwear suitable for running around in


Water Adventures @ Activities Away
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed our end of term trip to Activities Away until a time we can meet face to face in large groups again.  Our end of term trip will be a return to an activity centre in Lincoln to take part in some outside water activities. The plan is to arrive by 6pm, get changed into wet suits, buoyancy aids and helmets. Then we’d have an hour in the water doing one or more of the following activities:

Messing around on the water on sit-on tops, pedalos and inflatables
Mission Impossible – using similar equipment, but this is a more instructor led activity and we are in 2 teams to complete challenges
Sit-on Top session – a chance to have a go with our sit on top canoes and some paddling skills

Out of the water around 7.30pm then changed back into warm things and have a drink.

Pick up: 8pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters

Bring: Swimming costume, towel, old trainers or something to wear on their feet in the water (no sandals or crocs which can come off), then warm clothes to put back on after the session.
Wear: Brownie uniform is not required.
Other Information: Girls will need to have their tea beforehand  | Girls will receive a drink and snack after the activity

Summer Holidays Trip
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed summer holidays trip until a time we can meet face to face again. Our first summer holidays session will be a trip to a local park for a scavenger hunt, games and hopefully ice-cream!  This is also a Bring a Friend event (friends or siblings aged 6 to 12 years old).

Drop off: 5.45-6pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Pick up:  7.30-7.45pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters

Sign up: tbc
Wear
: Anything but sensible running shoes and sunhat required
Bring: A drink and sunscreen
Consent form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form


Summer Holidays Sessions – 
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed our summer holidays sessions until a time we can meet face to face again – we MAY continue to meet virtually on zoom.

We will be be open during the school summer holidays. These are also a Bring a Friend nights (female friends or siblings aged 6 to 12 years old).  Brownies can work on interest badges if they like.

When: Week beginning Monday 3 August for 4 weeks
Cost: Depends on funds but no more than £2 cash a session per child
Sign up: None, just come along but inform Daffodil of any food allergies, medical concerns etc.
Wear: Anything but sensible running shoes and sunhat required
Bring: A drink and sunscreen
Consent form: Not required


Museum of Lincolnshire Life & Lincoln Observatory Trip

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed this trip until a time we can meet face to face  in large groups again.  We are returning to the Museum following a very successful trip in 2018.  We will also be visiting the Lincoln Observatory.  This trip was planned for March 2021 but due to the COVID-19 crisis we have postponed it.  The plan is to visit the Museum first then walk 0.5 miles and finish the day at the Observatory.

Drop off: 9.30am at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters
Pick up: 2.30pm at venue as per consent form & weekly newsletters

Wear: Brownies – full Brownie uniform with necker & sun hat
Bring: Day sack with drink, packed lunch and money for souvenir shop

St Barnabas Colour Dash Fest
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis we have postponed this trip until a time we can meet face to face  in large groups again.  A trip originally planned for May 2020, fingers crossed we will soon be covered in coloured powder!  Badges will be awarded to those who take part.

Drop off: 9.45am for a 10am start at the Lincolnshire Showground (gate tbc)

Cost: £15 entry fee for Brownies

Sponsorship: Not required for those who raised money for 2020’s cancelled event
Wear: Shorts, trainers and plain white t-shirt.  Accessorize with fairy wings, leggings, head bands and ballet skirts!
Bring: A drink,  sunscreen and hat
Consent form: This event will be included in a yearly multi-activity consent form


Junior Poacher Day – August 2022 – TO BE CONFIRMED
Poacher is an international week long camp for scouts and guides.  Junior poacher is specifically for the younger members of Girlguiding/Scouting and is a one day event for Brownies.  It is only held every 4 years and we have been as a unit twice before in 2013 & 2017.  Check out the blog here from our last visit to see what a fab day we had!
